Types of Walls
The sculptures can be done on interior or exterior drywall, plastered, or masonry walls. They can be done on smooth or previously textured walls. Walls may require an application of a bonding agent to ensure proper adhesion.

Travel
Although the business is located in Two Rivers, a small town in Northeastern Wisconsin , I would be willing to travel to almost any location to create that special and unique sculpture on a wall in your home or business. Travel expenses would be included in the quote.

As an alternative, the plaster creation could be created in my shop in Two Rivers, crated up, and shipped to location where a contractor could simply "mud it in" to an existing wall.

From Idea To Reality
When a potential customer expresses interest, we determine their ideas for the space, themes in the room, type of wall surface, time constraints, etc. Some customers have difficulty envisioning what a sculpture actually looks like. I have a number of small samples I can show them, photographs of past projects, or I may be able to get them in to see actual sculptures on walls I've already done.  I may do a small sketch to confirm what I envision is what they actually want. I may also create a "life-sized" paper pattern and tape it to the customer's wall to again confirm that the finished project is what they want, it's the right size and location on their wall. Up to this point it has cost the potential buyer nothing. When we determine the final design we can then discuss price and the possibility of when it can be applied.

Size and Price
Sculptures are done free-hand directly on the wall. There are no prefabricated or premolded components used. Therefore, any design of any size is possible. With the amount of "hand work" done, the price will naturally depend on the size and detail required and will start at a few hundred dollars and go up from there. Many of the murals I've done have taken less than a day to complete which presents a possible option as a lasting gift for that hard-to-buy-for someone such as a wife, mother, or mother-in-law. If you can get them out of the house for most of the day, I may be able to create a truly unique, long lasting gift by the time they return.

Durability. Maintenance. Removal
The sculptures are created using a plaster product and are as durable as the wall they are built on. However, as with any plaster product, it is stiff and could crack if flexed.  In the rare instance that something should cause the mural to crack or chip off, it could easily be repaired.

All murals will be sealed before the project is considered complete.  I will paint the wall for the customer. Once painted there is no special maintenance required. Naturally because of the textures, the wall would be difficult to wash but could be dusted with a feather duster or a dry paint brush if needed.

Murals, whether sculpted or painted, are investments in an original work of art and serious consideration should be given before contracting to have the work done. If however a sculpted mural was to be taken off I would suggest the following:

1) Sanding - plaster products can be sanded either by hand or with power. This would create dust which seems to spread everywhere much like sanding drywall compound. If the surrounding wall has a textured finish it would have to be retextured prior to painting.

2) Chipping it off - a chisel could probably be used to remove the mural but the wall would
again need some repair prior to painting.

3) Replacing - The method I would use in my own home would be to cut
out the section of drywall and replace it. This method might be the quickest, generates the least mess,
and is relatively inexpensive.

Another Option
Motel/Hotel---Imagine doing one wall in each suite of a motel or hotel. Talk about putting a one-of-a- kind original piece of artwork in a room and not having to screw it to the wall to prevent theft!
